Lidiya Antonivna Kuplevska is a physician of superior expert category, a hirudotherapist, a reflexologist. Founder and head of the Hirudo-Med Center of Hirudotherapy in Lviv, author of books and manuals on the treatment with leeches.
Since graduating the Lviv State Medical Institute (now the Danylo Halytsky Lviv State Medical University) in 1979, during all years of practical activity, she has improved the professional level at the courses for improving the medical qualification in Lviv, Kyiv, Odesa, Moscow (Russia), Tel Aviv (Israel), in particular, from the cycles “Emergency therapy”, “Reflexotherapy”, “New technologies in medical rehabilitation”, “Alternative medicine in therapy and neurology”, “Problems of dependence in childhood and adolescence”, “Application of non-drug methods of treatment”, and so on.
The doctor participated in numerous international scientific-practical conferences, seminars, congresses, and master classes on hirudotherapy, apitherapy, Chinese medical diagnostics, integration of folk and nonconventional medicine in the general practice of a doctor, the use of non-drug therapies in medical practice, in particular, in Warsaw (Poland), Moldova, Moscow (Russia), Tel Aviv (Israel), Kyiv, Lviv, and Truskavets (Ukraine).
Over the past 10 years, hirudotherapy and natural methods of treatment is a priority area of the profession of a physician.
At the Center, theoretical and practical courses on mastering the basics of treatment by leeches are held regularly. Also, lectures, seminars, and courses are conducted in Poland (Warsaw, Przemysl), Moldova (Chisinau, Belts), Israel (Tel Aviv) and they have numerous followers.
L.A. Kuplevska is the author and compiler of practical manuals “Fundamentals of Hirudotherapy” and “The Use of Medicinal Leeches”, which were repeatedly reprinted and published in Ukrainian, Polish, Russian, Czech, and German. The 6th, updated and supplemented edition of “Hirudotherapy and Fundamentals of Health” is being prepared.
